A treasure trove of new information about penguins has been revealed in the new paper ‘Genomic insights into the secondary aquatic transition of penguins’ by Theresa Cole and co-authors (https://doi.org/10.1038/s41467-022-31.... The behaviour of penguins at SEA LIFE Kelly Tarlton’s Aquarium (Auckland, New Zealand) contributed to the study, with the behavioural observations collected by Peter Hadden (Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, University of Auckland) and Mohammad Norouzifard (Auckland Bioengineering Institute, University of Auckland). Daniel Thomas (School of Natural Sciences, Massey University) is a co-author of the new paper.
