In the first week, it´s normal to experience certain symptoms which are temporary and take time to resolve gradually on their own. Little can be done to speed the process and it varies according to the individual.

There are various phases in healing to keep in mind. After the first week you will begin to feel “normal” again, but visible bruising and swelling may take 3 - 8 weeks to disappear, which is why we recommend waiting a month before returning to work. Follow carefully the instructions during the months thereafter regarding the use of bruise gel and the auto-massage, encouraging the lymphatic system to do it´s work. After about 4 months, 70% of the healing has taken place, but it is still not complete. Complete swelling may not completely disappear for 6 months to a year before the facial tissues readapt to the new bone structure.
