I created this video to inform any homeowners looking into taking advantage of the solar buyback plan for which utility companies offer the best options for net metering solar credits buyback. Texas is one of the only States that is deregulated which means you are allowed to pick whatever utility company makes sense for you and your home.

Why is the solar buyback rate important?

To sell solar power back to the grid in Texas, you need to pick a special solar buyback or net metering plan for your electricity.

What is net metering?

Net metering is the ability to sell your excess solar power back to the grid usually at the same cost per kWh that the customer is buying from a retail energy company

3. Renewable Percentage - Any power you purchase is 100% backed by RECs.
4. Early Termination Fee - $149 flat fee


Chariot Energy Plan - Rise 36 (Solar Buy Back Plan) @ 14.4 ¢ 36 term
1. Buyback at the same energy rate you pay.
2. Unlimited buyback. Credits roll month over month. No cash-out option.
3. Renewable Percentage - Any power you purchase is 100% backed by RECs.
4. $15 per month remaining in the contract


Rhythm Energy Plan - Home Solar BuyBack 12 @ 15.4 ¢ 12 term
1. Buyback at the same energy rate you pay.
2. Unlimited buyback. Credits roll month over month. No cash-out option.
3. Renewable Percentage - Any power you purchase is 100% backed by RECs.
4. $10 per month remaining in the contract
