Today was one of those days.
Rent due. No money in my account. Waiting on a callback from a job interview. Day 5 of intentional sobriety after 25+ years. And then — a wasp flew into my apartment right before I had to go have the scariest conversation of my week.
What happened next is what this video is about.
I’m Jackye, a 50-year-old Vietnamese American storyteller documenting my healing journey in real time on this channel. My spiritual practice draws from many traditions — my Vietnamese mother raised me within Cao Dai, a polytheistic tradition, and my father came from a Christian background. I’ve come to believe that the divine is far too vast to be contained in any single tradition, and that signs, synchronicities, and sacred moments show up in every culture, every language, every way of knowing. A wasp is a wasp. And it is also a messenger. Both things are true.

A 52-card oracle deck by New York Times bestselling author and psychiatrist Judith Orloff, designed around the practice of surrender and letting go. Not a tarot deck — each card speaks directly to a specific emotional or spiritual pattern. The card that opened my day was Surrender Low Self-Esteem, with a sunflower on the front.
The Forty Servants by Tommie Kelly
A modern magick and divination system of 40 archetypal entities, each with its own sigil, personality, and domain. Can be used as an oracle deck, a sigil system, or a full working magick practice. I completed the 40-day initiation ritual with this deck, spending one day with each servant to build a real relationship before working with them in readings. The two cards I referenced today were The Road Opener (my card of the day, corresponding to Ganesha energy) and The Protester (foundation of the deck, the energy underneath everything).
