Меганевры (на латыни - Meganeura) — род вымерших стрекозоподобных насекомых, живших в каменноугольном периоде (около 300 млн лет назад). Семейство Меганеуры Meganeuridae - ключает 2 вида рода Meganeura - которые известны как крупнейшие в истории насекомые - Meganeura monyi (= синоним Meganeura brongniarti) и Meganeura vischerae имевшие размах крыльев до 65-70 см и 1 вид из другого рода - Meganeuropsis permiana. Охотились Меганеуры на примитивных растительноядных насекомых. Личинки Меганеуры вели наземный образ жизни и тоже были хищниками, по другой версии - личинки были водными и сходными с современными личинками стрекоз по образу жизни.
Meganeura is a genus of extinct insects from the Carboniferous period (who were living approximately 300 million years ), which resembled and are related to the present-day dragonflies (Odonata). Their wingspan was ranging from 65 cm to over 70 cm. The species Meganeura monyi is one of the largest known flying insect species. Species of Meganeura genus were predaceous, and they were feeding on other insects.

Ископаемые останки Меганевры были найдены в 1880 году во Франция и описаны в 1884 году. Другая хорошо сохранившаяся меганевра была найдена в английском графстве Дербишир в 1979 году.
