The presentation will focus on the development of technology and technique that led to online and distance learning and teaching with a special emphasis on the robust presence of effective education in virtual worlds with examples from Second Life and Digiworldz.

Dr. Zingrone is a Core Adjunct Professor of Psychology in the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Northcentral University. She is also a Research Fellow at the Parapsychology Foundation in New York City where her primary duties include organizing graduate level adult education courses and conferences on the scientific study of psychic experiences. Over the years she has published over 30 academic papers on aspects of belief, personality, individual differences, and the histories of psychology and psychiatry in such journals as Imagination, Cognition and Personality, and History of Psychiatry. She’s also published two articles, one with colleagues Dr. Nellie Deutsch and Dr. Doris Molero, in the Virtual Education Journal, a journal of education practice and techniques in virtual worlds.
