Flash remains widely used, but the scaling challenges of deep sub-micron CMOS nodes and the growing demands of automotive and industrial markets have opened the door to new alternatives. One of the most promising technologies is Phase-Change Memory (PCM), a non-volatile memory that stores data by altering the physical state of a chalcogenide material rather than trapping electrical charge.

PCM provides several advantages over Flash, including high endurance, byte-addressable writes without erase cycles, and excellent temperature resilience.
