I want to share with you my experience with a Kawai CA67 I bought for my daugther (starting her 3rd year at conservatory, playing softly...).
After 2 years and 5 months, some keys became sticky, difficult to use. More and more keys, more and more sticky. Some key take a long time to go back in initial position. The piano was under warranty for only 2 years...
I contacted Kawai France several times, they took 4 weeks to send me a mail, giving me the phone number of the company doing the technical service for Paris area. I opened the piano to see the problem, and cross checked on internet: the slip tapes are sticking on capstan (these words are new for me...). This problem is well known on Kawai Grand feel 1 and 2 (CA97, CA65, CA95...). The repair cost more than 300 euros, I cannot offer that to my daugther. Kawai France refused to contribute for the repair (saying the piano was sold end of 2017, but built in 2015).
So I decided to buy the slip tapes from this company (pieces from Kawai : Teraoka 777), and I did the jo by myself for the 88 keys. These slip tapes have PTFE layer on the top. This took me a very long time, to remove each key and each capstan, to remove each slip tape without damaging the key, clean each key and each capstan (remove glue), to put the new slip tape, and to put back in the piano each capstan and each key. The Kawai partner in Paris didn't give me any information but a Kawai technician in USA advised me to drop a very small amount of silicon oil on the new PTFE layer of each key. I did this, as the action seems to be better with this oil. Now, my daugther can resume her love story with the piano in good contition, after hours spent looking for information to learn how to repair, and doing the job by myself.

At this point, I can say I 'm a very disappointed with Kawai (France) : I agree that a problem can happen, even on a not so cheap product , but the way they decided to treat it is not correct (Especially for a well known problem on their production) , in my opinion. And sorry for my poor english :)
