How to use Stabisol?

Stabisol is an SBR based solution for interior and exterior priming/ painting needs. It is a 5 in 1 solution with capabilities to take care of fungus, algae, dampness, salt, UV rays.

As a primer:
Applying Stabisol as a primer is an important step in preparing surfaces for painting as it helps in - creating smooth & uniform surface, improving paint adhesion, enhancing the durability of paint and improving coverage of paint (Thus, reducing cost!). Moreover, Stabisol assists in waterproofing too due to its SBR base. Its unique properties keep the dried coating’s pH value as 7 to keep fungus, algae, dampness and salt away.

As an emulsion/ paint:
Stabisol is a popular choice as a paint due to its unparalleled value for money equation. It is economical, easy to use, durable, has quick drying time, has 5 in 1 properties as explained earlier and can be used in any colour with white base! If it is applied without mixing any colour, it reduces temperature of home by reflecting UV rays.


Here is a step-by-step guide to use Stabisol:
1) Clean the wall surface thoroughly to remove dust, dirt, grease and old left over primer/paint. Allow the surface to dry completely.
2) Repair any cracks, holes, or imperfections in the wall with Cemseal Krackfill, Krackfill+ and SBR Super Latex if needed. Sand down rough areas until smooth.
3) Open the can of Stabisol, add appropriate dosage of water (if needed to dilute for primer/ paint) and stir it thoroughly using a mixing machine. This ensures that any settled pigments are evenly distributed throughout Stabisol. For painting use, you can add pigments of your choice with help of Stainer.
4) If you want better waterproofing and gloss, you can add Stabisol+ as a booster too. Equivalent amount of water must be replaced before mixing.
5) Dip the paintbrush or roller into Stabisol and start coating evenly.
6) Allow it to dry for 24 to 48 hours depending on moisture in the weather. Make sure that coat doesn’t get wet due to rain or other ways before 48 hours of application.
7) Once the coating is dry, apply second coat if needed.
8) If you are using Stabisol as a primer and paint, both, 3 coats total would be sufficient in place of 2-2 coats of primer & paint.
9) You can have Stabisol as a coloured primer too with help of Stainer & Mixing machine.
10) Clean your tools once work is done.
