RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has responded to questions about the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s (RSS) legal registration, saying that “even Hinduism itself is not registered.” Speaking in Bengaluru on November 9 at the event “100 Years of RSS: New Horizons,” Bhagwat said the Sangh does not need formal registration because it is already recognized as a legal and constitutional organization.
He explained, “We were banned three times — meaning the government acknowledged our existence. Each time, courts lifted the ban and recognized RSS as a lawful body. Parliament has discussed this several times; hence, there’s no need for registration. Even Hinduism is not registered.”
