how to hike + camp JOFFRE LAKES | Backpacking British Columbia. joffre lakes is a very popular hiking trail north of whistler british columbia, near pemberton bc. joffre lakes provincial park is just a 2 hour drive away from metro vancouver which makes the joffre lakes hike very accessible. The joffre lakes trail reopened on june 23 2021, after being closed for over a year due to covid. my brother and i decided to hike and camp at joffre lakes for the night and this is how it went.

Visitors will need to reserve free day-use passes ahead of time to visit joffre lakes. The passes can be reserved one day (starting at 7am) in advance of the trip, and can be reserved online. If you have a camping reservation, a separate day-use pass is not required.
