Live - McKinley Fire Operational Update with fire perimeter and information on where the crews and engines are working. This is the evening "Break it Down" session where we share everything we know with you and work to answer your questions. Appearing in this 12 minute live feed from the Willow Community Center is Deputy Incident Commander for the Alaska Interagency Incident Management Team Tom Kurth.

We are asking that if you have evacuated or have a family member who has evacuated please call the Individual Information Call Center at 907-861-8326. Let us know that you are safe. If you have questions about the McKinley or Deshka Fires, or are asking about the status of your structure, please call the Mat-Su Area Forestry Information Hotline at 907-761-6233.

Critical Updates You Need to Know: No re-entry will be allowed until further notice without exception. Active fire fighting continues between milepost 82 and 91. Motorists following pilot cars are not allowed to stop and check on properties. We ask for your cooperation to keep fire personnel and first responders safe during this extremely challenging time.

The fire is estimated to be more than 3,000 acres with smokejumpers, hot shots, engine crews, and a wide variety of air support including air attack, helicopters with water buckets, and retardant ships working to protect structures.

The best gift to them is defensible space around your home, thank you signs, and/or a donation to the Wildland Firefighters Foundation, an organization that provides immediate and unconditional financial support to any injured wildland firefighter. #akwildfire #alaskawildfire #dnrwildfire #msbem
