Thomson Airways Boeing 757-200 | Skiathos to Gatwick | Takeoff and Landing - TOM4559

(G-OOBH) 29/05/15 Boeing 757-236, very powerful takeoff from Skiathos Airport with a fantastic sunset arrival into London Gatwick. A flight video including the taxi, takeoff, approach and landing of TOM4559.
Once again back on G-OOBH for a fantastic flight with Thomson Airways back to the UK after an amazing time in Skiathos. An amazing, powerful takeoff from Skiathos with a great RB211 buzzsaw from runway 02 after a short taxi and backtrack from the apron. Our initial departure from Skiathos required a right hand turn towards Skopelos, then a left hand turn towards Thessaloniki, however the pilots requested a direct vector to Thessaloniki rather than take the full departure sequence. Our cruising altitude was initially 36,000ft however I did notice that we step climbed twice to around 40,000ft! Beautiful scenes over mainland Greece and a bit cloudy heading up towards the Alps where there are some stunning views of the mountain range. For some of the flight we were chasing an Alitalia Airbus A320 which was a couple of thousand feet lower than us, a really nice sight to see! We began our descent over northern France, Calais area as we joined on to the arrival into London Gatwick. Surprised actually to get a straight in arrival since we were told that Gatwick was likely to be busy, but a great sunset arrival into RWY26L with stunning views of the English coast. A nice smooth landing into Gatwick performed by the First Officer. Whilst taxiing to the gate you can see the Emirates A380 parked up as well as the Norwegian 787 on the remote stands.
