Roland SH09 Sound Demo - Analogue Synth

Описание к видео Roland SH09 Sound Demo - Analogue Synth

The Roland SH09 is a monophonic synth released in 1979 and is the little cousin of the SH2 and more famous SH101. The synth has only 1 VCO but has a sub oscillator that can be mixed in to give your sounds more beef in the low end. The filter can self-oscillate lending itself to the creation of cool theremin type sounds or deep kick drums and lazer zaps. The SH09 was used extensively by the Eurythmics in the early days, its bass is instantly recognizable in the track 'Here Comes the Rain Again' amongst others.

A cool trick of this little monophonic synth is that you can connect the output of the headphone jack back into its external input to add feedback to sounds which kind of distorts them up a bit and gives them some grit. Overall the SH09 is great for bass sounds, it can even do hoovers pretty well although it lacks the pitch envelope, also great for leads, brassy type sounds and plucks. In my next video I will be re-creating Here Comes the Rain again using the SH09 on bass duties.
