Your diet does play a key role in your liver health, and it can make a huge difference to those with any type of liver disease.

🟦 VEGETABLES
▪ Vegetables - salads and cooked vegetables are beneficial.
▪ Wash or soak produce thoroughly.
▪ Avoid microwave cooking of vegetables and steam, stir fry, or roast them instead.
▪ Healthy liver salad dressings can be made with olive oil, lime, or lemon.

🟦 PROTEIN
▪ First class protein - such as eggs, seafood, fresh red meat, poultry, unprocessed cheeses, and nuts should be consumed regularly as your liver needs protein.

🟦 FATS
▪ You do not need a low fat diet, however if a meal high in fat gives you indigestion, this may be a sign of a dysfunctional gallbladder and you may need to take ox bile capsules or digestive enzyme capsules in the middle of a large or fatty meal.
Most cases of fatty liver are caused by a diet too high in carbohydrates and not a high fat diet.
▪ Healthy fats are good for the liver and the gallbladder – these include animal fats from unprocessed fresh meat, seafood, poultry, avocado, nuts, seeds, eggs, unprocessed cheeses, coconut cream and oil, olive oil.

🟦 SULPHUR OR SULFUR
▪ Foods high in the mineral Sulphur - sulphur is needed for the liver detox pathways.
▪ High sulphur foods include eggs, garlic, onion, leeks, shallots, chives, and cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, and cauliflower.

🟦 GALLBLADDER PROBLEM?
If you have lost your gallbladder or have a poorly functioning gallbladder and have indigestion or constipation, take ox bile capsules in the middle of a main meal.

If you suspect that you have a poorly functioning gallbladder you can ask your doctor to do an ultrasound scan of the liver and gallbladder and a HIDA Scan of your gallbladder. A hepatobiliary iminodiacetic acid (HIDA) scan is an imaging procedure used to diagnose problems of the liver, gallbladder, and bile ducts.

▪ Try intermittent fasting such as missing breakfast to reduce toxin load and reduce insulin resistance.
