Our David Chancellor spoke with Kerrville ISD superintendent Dr. Brent Ringo about how everyone in the area is doing everything they can to make sure students here are geared up for the first day of school next week.

Obviously, a real rough month for people all along the Guadalupe River in the Hill Country after 135 people lost their lives because of the devastating flooding from July 4th.

But the community is strong, and they are now in full recovery mode. The focus for a lot of people in Kerrville is getting ready for the new school year.

The district has received an overwhelming outpouring of support, including school supplies and backpacks, which is crucial for starting the new school year on a positive note. Dr. Ringo is deeply moved by the community's response and emphasizes the resilience shown by the community members, students, and employees. The support from within and outside the community is seen as a testament to the community's strength and unity.
