FIFA 22 88 Petr Cech player review. Thanks for watching and below is a more detailed review of the card, please leave any suggestions for reviews you would like to see in the comment section.

Diving/height – At 6’5 Cech is on the taller end for a goalkeeper and he makes full use of this with his great diving ability. Not only does his large frame make him harder to beat inside the box, but I also did not concede a long shot whilst using him and I did face a few from high end attackers such as Ronaldo. He is capable of making both one and two handed saves depending on the type of shot he is facing which allows him to make some great saves in matches.

Reflexes – Combining his diving and reflexes can make him really difficult for your opponent to beat from inside the box and he does make quite a few amazing stops. He even managed to get a hand to a shot from Messi taken around the 6-yard box which a lot of goalkeepers just would not be able to react in time and enter a diving animation. Again, he does use his 6’5 frame to his advantage and a couple of times just threw his body in front of the ball to block it.

Handling – His handling was okay but I expected him to keep hold of a few more shots than he did. Cech did tend to push the ball away a lot when making the save rather than getting an animation which would allow him to hold onto it. The positive side to his handling however is that from corners he does catch the ball rather than choosing to punch it away which allows you to regain possession. He also did not cause me many issues in terms of rebound opportunities despite palming the ball away most of the time.

Speed – His speed was surprisingly good for me. 51 as a stat is slightly average I would say, but in game he did really well when it came to rushing out off his line to collect the ball or put his body in the way of a shot. I think a lot of this comes down to his starting position which I will mention later but he played similar to goalkeepers that have the rushes out of goal trait and he saved me a few times in dangerous situations.

Distribution – His kicking ability was good enough in game. He has a decent amount of power and accuracy behind his kicks out of his hands. Off the ground it was also quite good which is usually an area of weakness for keepers with below 80 kicking as a base stat. He does also have the long throw trait which I think is massively useful for a goalkeeper as I like to throw the ball downfield most of the time instead of kicking it this year.

Positioning – The final area to discuss with this card is his positioning, which for me is the best aspect of the card. It is the highest rated base stat on this version of Cech and it does not disappoint. He has to be one of the best goalkeepers positioning wise that I have used this year, he always seemed to be stood in the right place at the right time which allows him to make a lot of saves. The only downside that relates to his positioning is the cautious with crosses trait which means that he does not come out to collect crosses unless they are within reach or close to his initial starting position. You can manually bring him out to collect the ball whilst it is in the air but this is not as effective as goalkeepers coming out on their own. Also, if you do not keep hold of the button he will sometimes retreat back towards goal even if he is within reach of the cross.
