Jalal, an artist who’s flute takes his audience on a journey of melancholy, mystery and enchantment. Jalal started his musical journey from his childhood. Representing Shilpakala Academy, Jalal participated in World Flute Festival where the whole world enjoyed his outstanding playing and skills.
Nazrul Baul, the magnificent ‘Dhol Badok’ of Bangla. He has been part of many baul legend’s musical team and travelled around the world with traditional percussion instrument ‘Dhol’. Nazrul Baul has mesmerized the audiences with the colorful beats of Bangla Folk music throughout decades.
An initiative of Sun Foundation; ‘Dhaka International FolkFest’ is a celebration of sheer musical brilliance where myriads of folk artistes from home and abroad perform on a single platform.

জালালের বাঁশি বাংলা লোকগানের এক অবিচ্ছেদ্য অংশ। বাউল পরিবারের সন্তান জালালের সংগীতজীবনের সূচনা হয়েছিল ছোটবেলাতেই। নানা ধরণের গানে নানা ধরণের বাঁশি বাজিয়ে সব শ্রেণীর শ্রোতাদের মাঝে জনপ্রিয়তা অর্জন করেছেন তিনি। শিল্পকলা একাডেমির প্রতিনিধি হিসেবে ‘ওয়ার্ল্ড ফ্লুট ফেস্টিভাল’-এ অংশগ্রহণ করার সম্মান অর্জন করেন এই গুণী শিল্পী। সেখানে তাঁর বাঁশির সুরে মোহিত হয়েছেন সারা পৃথিবীর মানুষ।



নজরুল বাউল বাংলাদেশের অন্যতম জনপ্রিয় ঢোলবাদক। দেশের নামকরা বাউল শিল্পীদের দলের সদস্য হিসেবে বিশ্বভ্রমণ করেছেন নজরুল বাউল। বিশ্বব্যাপী ছড়িয়ে দিয়েছেন বাংলা ঢোলের তাল। কয়েক দশক ধরে শ্রোতাদেরকে ঢোলের জাদুতে মুগ্ধ করে রেখেছেন এই গুণী শিল্পী।
সান ফাউন্ডেশনের উদ্যোগে আয়োজিত ‘ঢাকা ইন্টারন্যাশনাল ফোকফেস্ট’ লোকসংগীতের এক মিলনমেলা। এ উৎসবে বিশ্বের নানা প্রান্তের লোকসংগীত শিল্পীদের পরিবেশনায় অসাধারণ সব লোকগান শোনার সুযোগ পায় বাংলাদেশের মানুষ।
