A Recollection of Gen. Albert Sidney Johnston Following His Death

Описание к видео A Recollection of Gen. Albert Sidney Johnston Following His Death

One of the greatest Confederate losses during the Civil War was the death of one of its most accomplished military leaders, Albert Sidney Johnston, at the Battle of Shiloh. He holds the grim distinction of being the highest ranking officer on either side killed during the war. His body briefly lay in state at Rose Cottage in Corinth, Miss. The mistress of the house, Flora Inge, shared her recollections on her own deathbed in 1925.

"Life on the Civil War Research Trail" is hosted by Ronald S. Coddington, Editor and Publisher of Military Images magazine. Learn more about our mission to showcase, interpret and preserve Civil War portrait photography at militaryimagesmagazine.com and shopmilitaryimages.com.
