Star Tracking Milky Way Photography in Goblin Valley for Night 10! |

Night 10 was an awesome place to go for an awesome Milestone! With THREE solid images from Goblin Valley I was incredibly happy! Not to mention Brendon and I got a chance to meet up with our friend Phil Sisto!

The first location we went to just to satisfy my personal nostalgia. It was the location of my FIRST EVER Goblin Valley Milky Way TWO YEARS prior and I wanted to celebrate two years by trying the capture again but this time using Royce Bair’s & Wayne Pinkston Low-Level Lighting Techniques instead of having Brendon wave my $100 expensive flashlight around at the goblins for 7 different frames. The image is a SINGLE image now with the low-level lighting bringing out the awesome hoodoos and the sky captured in great detail.

It is truly wonderful being able to capture a light painted foregrounded AND a sky all in a single frame instead of needing to combine later in post-processing!

We ended the evening at a location of Phil Sisto’s scouting and it was great to cap off the night there and enjoy the beauty if a 45-degree tilted Milky Way core and celebrate the variety of Goblin Valley!

Keep checking back on the adventure as I go for 23 straight nights of Milky Way Photography! Night 11 we go out to Silver Lake to keep things simple before leaving to the airport at 6am to fly out to Oregon for a week!!
