Russia Ukraine War Updates LIVE: US President Biden Announces $8 billion in Military Aid for Ukraine

Amid rising tensions between Russia and Ukraine, US President Joe Biden announced more than $8 billion in military assistance for Ukraine on Thursday to help Kyiv "win this war". Taking to social media, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who is in the US currently, thanked Biden for the aid. The announcement comes a day after Biden, Zelensky and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen gathered with other world leaders on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in a strong display of unity for Ukraine. "We're committed to providing Ukraine with the resources that it needs to build back stronger than before ... You're not alone in this fight," Biden had said on Wednesday.
