Hola Mini by Wind Studio | Showcase and sound tests

I can't keep track how many 40% boards I've built this year and I am grateful to be able to build and type on this cute and unique layout. This time we are looking at a 40% board from Wind Studio called the Hola Mini! This is also my first time trying a Wind Studio board so I'm quite excited and did not know what to expect. Spoiler alert! The board exceeds my expectation and it sounded really good!

The Hola Mini is a PCB gasket mounted board and is very similar to a 40% board I built in the past, the Duo by LAZYDESIGNERS. The sound signature on both boards are very similar but the Hola Mini sounds deeper. However, the Duo has better aesthetics. And I would choose the Duo over this anytime. But if you missed out on Duo and you're looking for a 40% board that sounds just as incredible, I think the Hola Mini may be one that you're looking for. The design is much more minimal and is lighter as well so you can definitely bring the Hola Mini while you're traveling.

I did not do any sound tests without foams because the space between the PCB and bottom case is very small and shallow. I'm afraid that the PCB would bottom out so I didn't want to risk it.

Please note this is a prototype and the final units will have more layout compatibility. If this is too small and niche for you, there is a 50% version that comes with a num pad called the Hola. Please check WInd Studio's official site for more information on both the Hola and Hola Mini:
