Sliding Glass Patio Door Remodel- Southern USA Edition with Brick Exterior

I wanted to share how I took an inexpensive stock New Construction sliding glass patio door with outer flanges from a box store and replace an old aluminum door in my older Texas home with brick exterior and a slab foundation. Most homes are built that way in the southern US, and I only saw videos showing how to install them in new homes or replace in homes with wood exterior siding and a wood framed subfloor. The manufacturer of my new door (Jeld Wen) did not include instructions for my application. I did quite a bit of research and found out how the pros do it (but they keep it secret).
