Newlyn, in West Cornwall, is just a mile to the west of Penzance. One of the UK's busiest fishing ports it's an outstandingly charming jumble of old streets.

In this video I take a walk around the sights of Newlyn and go exploring in the old Fradgan part of town.

Starting off at the Newlyn Art Gallery I head down to the Green with its now iconic Fisherman's Memorial sculpture. After passing the foodie favourite of the Tolcarne Inn we arrive on Newlyn's main thoroughfare - the Strand.

From here it is only a quick hop to the harbour, which is the biggest in England in terms of fish landed. Heading up past the ever-lively Swordfish Inn and we are almost in the Fradgan.

After passing through the Fradgan we are back on the Strand where there are a number of fish shops selling some of the freshest fish in the UK. Then it's up the hill!

The little lanes above the harbour are my favourite part of Newlyn; steep, narrow and packed with charm.

Once we've nosed around the warren of streets and visited the Rosebud Memorial garden we head for the Old Quay... and take to the air.

The drone footage gives some great aerial views of the harbour and town and helps make sense of the higgeldy-piggledy layout of Newlyn.

With the Old Quay explored it is back up the hill to have a look at a couple of particularly quaint streets we missed first time and down for a final look out over Newlyn Harbour.
