The Faculty of Agriculture was officially established, being the 5th Faculty of Chiang Mai University.

Throughout five decades the faculty kept growing and, nowadays, it consists of 5 departments, namely:
Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology
Department of Plant and Soil Science
Department of Agricultural Economic Development
Department of Animal and Aquatic Sciences
Department of Highland Agriculture and Natural Resources
