WHAT ARE SUPERWORMS?
Superworms are larvae of the beetle Zophobas morio, a species of darkling beetle.
How DO I FEED SUPERWORMS TO MY PETS?
Superworms are easy to feed to your pet reptiles, amphibians, or birds.
Contrary to popular belief, a superworm will not eat your pet from the inside out.
HOW DO I HOUSE SUPERWORMS?
Store superworms at 70-80F – humidity is unimportant. Superworms can be kept without food for 1-2 weeks, but take the opportunity to gutload the superworms with something nutritious, or a carrot/sweet potato.
HOW DO I BREED SUPERWORMS?
Breeding superworms is fairly simple, but does take quite a while due to the superworm’s relatively long life cycle.
1) Purchase about 50 to 100 superworms. You can purchase live superworm larvae online or from Los Animales shop by Wolfpack Exotics.
2) Place each larva in an individual, ventilated container. You can use plastic film canisters, partitioned craft boxes, condiment cups, or empty plastic cosmetic jars for this purpose.
3) Put a little substrate in each container. Use just enough to cover the bottom of the container.
4) Keep the containers in a warm, dark place for about 10-14 days.
5) Check the larvae to see if they have transformed into pupae.
6) Wait about 2 weeks for the pupae to mature. It will take about 2 more weeks for the pupae to transform into beetles.
