With lessons drawn from the 2013 general election, the National Crime research Centre has launched a report on election crimes and offences in Kenya. The findings of the report show that bribery, voter fraud, hate speech and violence, were the most prevalent election crimes. The need to rein in on hate speech on social media and other media has been of special focus to the National Cohesion and Integration Commission. The National Crime Research Centre is now urging IEBC to profile election offenders irrespective of their status in society.
