A Spiral Made of Wires was commissioned by V.R. Eaton High School and premiered on Eaton's 2021 PASIC Performance Series. Composer Ivan Trevino brings a fresh soundscape to the percussion ensemble space with pedal-distorted electric guitar and anvils alongside traditional mallet percussion and drum set.

From Ivan, "Guitar / guitar centric music is something that is foundational to my musical upbringing. As my career has spiraled and branched away from my starting place, I think guitar is one of the elements at the center of that spiral, a tool that has taught me to write songs and develop my voice, and ultimately grow from. Since guitar strings are made of wire, I thought the title was appropriate."
