This stock came in in 3 pieces. The bottom tip of the forend split off - the grain runs right through the sling swivel/forend extension bolt. We put a few pins into it to keep them together better, and give the epoxy extra surface area to adhere to. 3 pins, .062” one in front & two behind the bolt.

Part of the restoration process before refinishing is using a rubber tubing acts as a circumferential clamp - like a strap clamp - that doesn’t mar the wood and epoxy well (any epoxy overflow is sanded off after curing).
Once the stock is repaired, cleaned, steamed & degreased, it is stained, sealed & oiled.
Oil is applied and hand buffed into the wood & built up over top it until the desired finish (satin, glossy, high gloss) is achieved. Oil needs to cure ~8+ hours between applications depending on the piece of wood, ambient conditions, etc.

Eventually, the stock went back in one piece, as it was always intended to be, shiny and polished. The barrel and the parts have been re-blued and the stock has been glued and refinished.
