El Arte Del Video Video Synthesis

Описание к видео El Arte Del Video Video Synthesis

The El Arte Del Video series was produced by TVE S.A. Television Espanola in 1989 exploring the art of video, composition and synthesis. This edited and selective compilation focuses mainly on video synthesis and some selected artists that used analogue and digital techniques to create highly innovative and visual artforms. Among them with added features are:

Naim June Paik (vertical & horizontal deflection and colourisation)
Stephen Beck (direct electronic generation)
Woody Vasulka (scan processing/scan modulation)

A wide variety of electronic instruments have been constructed by engineers and artists over the years which operate television technologies as the canvas to create new and dynamic forms of imagery. From vision mixing, video feedback, colourisers, chroma key - analogue effects which modify the scanning sequences from cameras, to computer-controlled frame store devices and 3D computer modelling and simulation; video synthesis evolved from artistic and imaginative explorations to expand the visual dimension and the horizon of the human imagination. Video synthesis gives the visual artist the power to realise that which is subject to the creative faculties, allowing a freedom of expression and dynamism using form, shape, colour, texture and motion generated by electronic means. This selective compilation explores some of these visual practices, with other segments added for interest or entertainment.
