Youngest Baby Ever Born at the Hospital Heading Home

Описание к видео Youngest Baby Ever Born at the Hospital Heading Home

Baby Marz was born at just 21 weeks (that is equivalent to about five to six months) – the youngest baby to be born at Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital Long Beach. She was born weighing only 1lb 1 oz, to put that in perspective that is about the size of a box of butter. Typically, babies who are born as early as 21 weeks, that is a micro-preemie with a weight hovering right about 1 lb., do not have a high rate of survival, but Miller Children’s is one of the largest level IV NICUs in the area with a Small Baby Program, that has a special program to care with an extremely low birth weight program, that launched to ensure these patients have the highest level of care.

Marz and her NICU team at Miller Children’s & Women’s worked night and day to ensure that she could go home to her mom, dad and big sister. Now, four months since she was born, Marz is leaving the NICU and going home with her family as a proud NICU Graduate.
