I was invited to The Dollhouse Kitchen’s Wicked-themed Drag Brunch this past weekend in Midtown Houston — and it was one of the most memorable brunch experiences I’ve had in the city.

Nestled beneath the 2016 Main Condos, this moody, neon-lit cabaret features fog, a disco ball, incredible A/V, and a cast of performers who work the entire room.

The food was amazing (I had the Smoked Almond Avocado Eggs Benedict), the Elphaba cocktail was perfection, and host Dessie Love-Blake kept the crowd entertained from start to finish.

In a state where LGBTQ+ culture is increasingly politicized, spaces like this matter. Drag brunch isn’t just entertainment — it’s community, joy, and resistance.
