Lori's Twisty Bind Off
This is a new way to cast-off ribbing, with no unwanted flare or bulk and very stretchy. If completed correctly it should stretch full width of your knitting... if it does not, you are completing it too tight

This bind off works for all types of ribbing, whether you are binding off in the round or on a straight knit project (although I have been told it works for all knit and all purl bind offs).
Method: 1 x 1 Ribbing
Knit your first stitch as usual, but elongate the stitch so it is about ½ stitch longer than a normal stitch (do this for all your knit and purl stitches). This stitch is now on your right needle, rotate your needle counter-clockwise (towards you) for one rotation and purl your next stitch as normal. Lift the knit stitch over the purl stitch just created. You will now have 1 purl stitch on your right needle, twist this stitch clockwise (away from you) for one rotation then knit your next stitch as normal. Continue twisting the stitches clockwise for all knits and counter-clockwise for all purls along the ribbing until you have only one stitch left on your right needle, cut yarn leaving a 6 inch tail, pull through the last stitch and finish off.

Method: 2 x 2 Ribbing
Knit your first stitch as usual, but elongate the stitch so it is about ½ stitch longer than a normal stitch (do this for all your knit and purl stitches). This stitch is now on your right hand needle, Knit the next stitch like the first stitch and pass the 1st stitch over the second stitch. Rotate the stitch on the right hand needle counter-clockwise (towards you) for one rotation and purl your next stitch as normal. Lift the knit stitch over the purl stitch just created. You will now have 1 purl stitch on your right needle, Purl the next stitch and lift the first purl stitch over the second stitch just created. You have now completed binding off 2 knit stitches and 2 purl stitches. Continue this method across the row, only rotating the needle when you change from knits to purls or purls to knits. When you have only one stitch left on your right needle, cut yarn leaving a 6 inch tail, pull through the last stitch and finish off.

3 x 3 and or 4 x 4 Ribbing or any other combination: Follow the above directions for the 2 x 2 ribbing, but only twist the yarn when you change from knit to purl or purl to knit.
