SLIDE OR DIE Yard Kart Nationals RND 8 Derpadega "The Finals"

YKN RND 8 “The Finals” of 2023
…found us at Derpadega, where it all began! 31 karts arrived to take on the tricky track. We spent a lot of time favoring the topside with moisture and it created a super tough track to navigate which requiring racers to search for moisture. After 4 hard fought heats (2 ending in last turn, last lap attempts for the win), and a B main the 20 kart A-Main was set! Adria Johnson #138 with some luck on her side pulled #1 pill and never looked back! Green to checker to take the win and her first YKN win of 2023, and second career YKN win (2021 being her last win)!! Second place goes to a topside charger Andrew Prather #8 who found moisture up top late in the race exiting 2 and used it to throw a EPIC slide job on 3rd place finisher Matt Monday #15 entering turn 3 on the LAST LAP! It was a 3 kart battle for 2nd with Andrew, Matt, and Tommy Corcoran #21 who followed Andrew on the slide job boxing Matt between them! Coming off 4 it was a drag race with Andrew snagging 2nd by a kart nose over Matt, then Tommy 4th, whom had no choice but to slot in behind them!!
