As the Catholic Church in Uganda prepares for the second visit of his Holiness the Pope, the Archbishop of Kampala, Dr Cyprian Kizito Lwanga has denied allegations circulating that he asked government for Shs 9billion for preparations. It is alleged that the Archbishop applied for the money through a letter he addressed to the finance minister Matia Kasaija recently. Lwanga made the clarification while celebrating mass during the commemoration of 140 years of Catholicism in Uganda at Kigungu, in Wakiso, where the first Catholic missionaries originally landed in 1879.
