Carmen Bolden Day is the mother of Jelani Day, a 25-year-old graduate student at Illinois State University whose body was found in the Illinois River. When he was initially reported missing on August 25, 2021, in Bloomington, Illinois—his mother says there was “no urgency” from law enforcement to find him. During the month-long search, Carmen even went viral while explaining her issue with Jelani not getting the same coverage as murdered 22-year-old Gabby Petito. Carmen joins the “Tamron Hall” show to talk about the case and her quest to solve the mystery behind Jelani’s death.
