[FAKE NEWS ALERT] - I made the mistake of listening to a knowledgeable-sounding friend who told me the ruin was a hunting lodge. It was not. It was simply a house, which was bought and planted by the forestry service around the 1940s/50s. Apologies! (It was a day off from researching, but I shouldn't be telling you things I haven't researched lol)

This week is the coming of summer and the ancient Irish festival of Bealtaine (or Beltane, as the Wiccans call it!?) and with restrictions eased, it was time to get out and about in my county of Louth and show you the sites we often visit at this time of year - we usually make trips to such places as the Magic Hill in Jenkinstown, the Long Woman's Grave (The Windy Gap) in Omeath and the beautiful Ravensdale forest when people come to visit us in the summertime. And since we still can't have visitors, I need to show them to someone!
