Freestyle skateboarding returned to Marl for Germany's first open national championship for over 40 years, welcoming an international line up of over 40 skaters of all ages and abilities. This was the final contest of the 2025 season, taking place on 14th December 2025 at the Sports Hall of August Döhr School. The contest came at a special time, showcasing the passion of the organisers as a culmination of their experience in skateboarding and providing a much-needed opportunity to gather at a time when the freestyle community was reeling from a period of unexpected loss.

The contest saw some of the best skating of the year, with a few first-timers popping up in podium positions, whilst the legends showed they could still compete with the best of today's generation of freestylers. Special thanks go out to Burns and the Again crew for putting together such an incredible contest, and our thanks go out to Jelle Callens and Eric Schäder with helping with the filming of these runs.
