Modern architecture of Istanbul, walking tour March 2024

Dear friends of cities and architecture,
please, slow down and enjoy the walking tour of Istanbul, Turkey, taken on March 2024. Even though my channel name is "Cycling the cities", I was not able to rent a bicycle in Istanbul. I was relying on app "Marti" to rent an e-scooter, but at the end I was not able to unlock any of them. Therefore I've decided only to walk around, according to me, interesting places with modern architecture.

My tour starts on a surrounding of a metro station "Maltepe". There you can see couple of interesting administration buildings, as well as showcase of a typical residential suburb in Istanbul. Tour than continues to Istanbul Financial District, where I stopped filming, after I was approached by security. If you will decide to visit Istanbul, be prepared for ubiquitous security checks. My next stop was renovation of Galataport with wonderful art gallery - Istanbul Modern, designed by famous architect Renzo Piano. At the end you will enjoy tour of two modern and very interesting shopping malls - Kanyon and Zorlu Center. Enjoy!
