The Self-Perpetuating Lie (Oikawa Tōru) | Haikyuu!!

Описание к видео The Self-Perpetuating Lie (Oikawa Tōru) | Haikyuu!!

note: Spoilers for S1, S2, and S3

Happy October!

It took me some time to warm up to Oikawa when I first watched Haikyuu. This particular video essay and character analysis on Oikawa encapsulates why he is one of my favorite characters in the series, as well as being arguably the most relatable character in the series for myself.

I worked overtime to refine this video essay (despite it coming out a month after my last video), so I hope you enjoy it.

Someday, I hope you and I can both break free of the self-perpetuating lie.

"The chance to let your talent truly blossom, perhaps it's today. Or maybe, it's tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, or next year. Or perhaps even when you're 30? In regards to physique, I can't say much. But if you yourself think that you don't have talent, then you'll probably never have it."

Another video on Oikawa that shares some similar thoughts by Aleczandxr (The Curse of the Ordinary):    • The Curse of the Ordinary - Oikawa To...

It has been brought to my attention that more of a few lines in this video essay sound extremely similar (if not outright the same) to lines said in Aleczandxr's video (The Curse of the Ordinary), and it was certainly not my intention to copy his video or in the way he wrote about Oikawa. That was definitely my mistake. I was inspired by his video when I watched it months ago, so it is highly likely that some of his wording and language unintentionally flowed into mine as well.

I'll do better on my next videos to avoid this entirely.

Thank you all.
