To reset a VSOL OLT, several methods are available, depending on whether you aim for a simple reboot or a full factory default. For a hard reset, locate the recessed reset button on the OLT's front or rear panel. Using a thin pointed object like a paperclip, press and hold this button for approximately 5-10 seconds until the device reboots. This action typically restores the OLT to its factory default settings, erasing all custom configurations and requiring re-provisioning.

Alternatively, for a software-initiated reboot or reset, access the OLT via its Command Line Interface (CLI) using Telnet, SSH, or a console cable. Common commands in the privileged EXEC mode include `reboot` or `reload` to simply restart the device without losing configuration. To perform a factory reset via CLI, some VSOL models might offer commands like `system factory-reset` or `erase startup-config` followed by a `reboot`, which will clear the running and startup configurations.

If using the web management interface, navigate to the "System," "Maintenance," or "Administration" section. Here, you will typically find options for "Reboot" or "Factory Reset." Always ensure you have a backup of your current configuration before initiating any factory reset, as it will wipe all user-defined settings, including IP addresses, VLANs, and ONU registrations.
