STORYLINE:
Bangladesh’s Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina met Saturday with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi, where the two countries are expected to sign a slew of agreements and strengthen their relationship.

India and Bangladesh share historical and cultural ties, and bilateral relations have improved since Hasina and her Awami League party came to power in 2009.

Hasina’s visit will be the first bilateral meeting with Modi after he returned to power for a third term earlier in June.
