Beabadoobee is something of an overnight success. She got expelled from school, wrote her first song, posted a sing-song version online, then BOOM. Hits. Views. Millions of ’em. These days, she’s often credited as the Voice of Gen Z, while drawing comparisons to ’90s alt-rock rule-defiers like Sonic Youth, Courtney Love and L7, as she pens tracks on drugs, misery and true romance. Like an episode of Euphoria with a guitar thrown in to liven the mood.

Starring in our latest issue in a technicoloured fashion spread, we managed to catch the 20-year-old singing sensation to ask her a few personal questions. Like why were you expelled? Who do you fancy? And something about toe fungus… Anyway, she was, as expected, bloody mega.
