This is the Disneyland model on display in the Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln lobby. It was first displayed during Disneyland's 50th anniversary celebration. It shows how Disneyland looked when it opened in 1955. There were plenty of empty spaces, and each land was self contained, meaning in order to get from one land to another, you had to go back to the hub or plaza area, the lands were not connected along the perimeter. Some things to note:
The Pirate Ship in Fantasyland.
The Polynesian themed patio dining area behind the Plaza Pavilion (now Jolly Holiday).
The former Chicken Plantation Restaurant at the rivers edge in Frontierland.
The corral in Frontierland where the Shooting Gallery is now.
The Rocket Ship and lake in Tomorrowland.
The former farm house and temporary buildings backstage to the right of Main Street.
