PC Rescue! Let's save Rett from himself...

Rett's PC is a hand-me-down upgraded from hand-me-down and discarded parts he's collected over the years. And while it runs, it's time to bring him into this decade.

But first... What are WE drinking???

Two Japanese import brews. First up is the Aooni IPA from Yoho Brewing Company in Nagano, Japan. It's a 7% IPA, and is certainly a different take on the brew. Gone are the citrus and floral notes from a NW IPA, relying instead on a more grassy hop and a dryer finish. Very good.

Also up is Abashiri Brewing of Abashiri Hokkaido, Japan with their Okhotsk Blue Lager. A bit lighter at 5%... it's well... it is blue.

Rett's original PC was a Walmart special featuring an Intel Core i5-760 (4C/4T), 8GB of DDR3 1066, and an nVidia GTX 580 1.5GB GPU. A single (connected) 1TB mechanical drive took care of storage, and a ThermalTake 650W PSU made sure the 580 wouldn't meet it's untimely demise.

We bumped him up to an MSI B350m Pro-VH motherboard and a Ryzen 3 2200G (4C/4T), which nearly doubled his CPU power. Water cooling was certainly not necessary, but fun none the less with the help of the Baronkase Liquid case and a DeepCool Castle 120mm AIO. We swapped the 580 for a GTX 760 2GB card... an almost lateral move for performance, but much quieter and cooler running than that Fermi monster.

A 240GB SSD and 16GB of 3000MHz DDR4 finished off the build.
