Nice tutorial! Just wanted to mention that grafting will not hide any irregularities in what you are covering. On the contrary, it will exacerbate any unevenness. If you are covering a rope, make sure it is wormed and parcelled very carefully. Don't bother trying to graft over a splice. If you are grafting over some puddening, remove any seizings holding your puddening in place as you go.

Basically Grafting is interweaving a Warp running continuously around the section being covered, with wefts which run along the length of the section.

I calculated that for every inch of covering I used 2.66 inches of cordage. The cordage itself was 3mm in dia.
