This is the Battle Droid on STAP, an alternate build from Lego 9748 Droid Developer. I built it by watching the only other video I found on Youtube (or anywhere). As a result it's definitely not quite right. The feet connection is not correct, but works OK. The Droid body construction is definitely not quite right, but the model basically works. For a 20 year old set, building this model was an enjoyable challenge from the limited information available. I hope this higher quality video and photos enables others to make this build and please let me know if you solve the Droid body construction! The MicroScout is in programme number 4. Initially it rotates to make the droid appear to fire by leaning to the right (looking at the face of the droid) by flashing the torch, the mode is switched to reverse the motor and make the droid lean left. This triggers the release mechanism and makes the droid fall backwards. As you can see, even in the forward mode, in a few cases as the droid recovers from the lean, he over recovers and triggers the fall mechanism. Either way it is a nice action I think.
