In this part 3 video from Sirius Trucking, Don Sirius gives a close-up look at the offloading process at a fracking site in Eddy County, New Mexico.

Viewers see the sand coordinator ground guiding him to the Viper — the machine that takes the sand from the hopper trailer to the conveyor belt, moving it up into the onsite sand silo. Don explains how some sites require the driver to get out and open the bottom of the hopper, but only with full PPE. No PPE? You’re off the site, and most likely, not coming back.

Also, you’ll see how digital readouts near the silos may be used to monitor how full or empty each silo is. In some locations, the Viper is even operated by remote control.
