Course Description:
What is Acne?
Acne is a common skin disease characterized by whiteheads or pimples on the face followed by whitening liquid discharges, pain and scarring of the skin. It falls under the TCM category of “furuncle”, “facial Pustules” or “lung-wind comedo”. Acne usually affects adolescents and appears on the face and sometimes on the chest and back.

How can TCM help diagnose Acne problems?
TCM holds that acne can be caused by following possible reason: fumigation by fire-heat of the lung to face plus pathogenic wind attacking the skin, dampness and heat accumulation from spleen and stomach due to overeat of sweet and fatty food or spleen deficiency, or the woman with disorder of Chong and Ren channels, and blood stasis and Qi stagnation.
