L&B Spumoni Gardens! Legendary, Mobster or Overrated?

Today, this pizza review is to find out how good is L&B Spumoni Gardens in Brooklyn, NY. The Barbati Family has been making pizza and spumoni since 1939. Their legendary status for the Sicilian slice, also known as the Square is very strong, but some might think it's now ok. More importantly, when you are done with your pizza meal, you can end your meal with dessert, the famous spumoni!

What makes it more interesting is it's connection to gang wars, where mobsters got over recipe turf wars. The orginal owner of L&B was murdered.

L&B Spumoni has been reviewed by many and listed as one of the best in New York and on some lists showing them as best in the World! If you have gone, what do you think?

The pan they bake the Square in provides a great crunchy crust that keeps the pulpy tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese. L and B Spumoni cooks their pizza in a commercial pizza oven. They only make regular cheese and Sicilian and add different toppings. Pineapples was not a choice! The cost of the slices were both $3.50. For the 4 slices came to $14.00. It’s a fair deal.

L&B Spumoni has an indoor dining area so you can be covered during inclement weather. However most people take to the outdoor picnic tables. They also have a small parking lot that has room for about 10 vehicles.

The spumoni is a combination of pistachio, chocolate and what seemed like a cannoli flavored italian creme ice. A cup of large L&B Spumoni Italian ice costs $4.25.
